RESOLUTION 2001-126
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROVING THE CITY MANAGER'S FINDING THAT THE
CITY'S AMBULANCE KNOWN AS MEDIC n IS NO LONGER NEEDED
BY THE CITY OF SEWARD AND DONATION OF THE AMBULANCE
TO THE VILLAGE OF TATITLEK IN PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND
WHEREAS, with the recent purchase of a new ambulance by the Seward Volunteer
Ambulance Corps (SV AC), SV AC has written to the city manager that they no longer need the
city's ambulance known as Medic II; and
WHEREAS, with the approval of the city manager, SV AC contacted other
communities that may be in need of a used ambulance and have recommended that the city
donate Medic II to the village of Tatitlek based upon their need, their willingness to house the
unit and transport it to their community; and
WHEREAS, Seward City Code ~7.01.01O provides that the city manager may make a
written fmding that city personal property is no longer necessary for corporate or public
purposes and may offer the property for sale or donate the property to a nonprofit
organization; and
WHEREAS, the city manager has determined that the City no longer needs the
ambulance for corporate or public purposes; and
WHEREAS, while the city code allows the city manager to donate surplus personal
property to a non-profit organization, the city manager is requesting that the city council
approve the donation given the cost of the ambulance and the importance the ambulance has
been to the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The Council approves the city manager's finding that the city's ambulance
known as Medic II is no longer needed by the city of Seward.
Section 2. The Council hereby approves the city manager's donation of the ambulance
known as Medic II to the village of Tatitlek in Prince William Sound.

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 8th
day of October, 2001.
