RESOLUTION NO. 2001-143
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, ACCEPTING GRANT FUNDS FROM KENAI
PENINSULA BOROUGH AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR AN
ALPARI PARKS AND RECREATION LITTER PATROL
WHEREAS, Seward Parks and Recreation Department has been awarded a grant from
Alaskans for Litter Prevention and Recycling (ALP AR) and has now received an additional $2,000
from Kenai Peninsula Borough toward the project; and
WHEREAS, the grant will fund a youth litter patrol consisting of an adult leader and a part-
time crew of three to five youth workers and fund garbage dumpster refurbishing; and
WHEREAS, litter pick up is desired among community members and visitors; and
WHEREAS, beautification projects - in this form - are consistent with City plans; and
WHEREAS, Council action is required to accept the grant and appropriate funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section L The grant totaling $2,000 from KPB is hereby ACCEPTED and appropriated to
the ALPAR Special Project Revenue Account No. 215-2155-4680-0900.
Section 2. Funds totaling $2,000 are hereby appropriated to the ALP AR Expenditures,
Budget Account No. 215-2155-XXXX as follows:

215-2154-5090

Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
