RESOLUTION 2001-162
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH TRYCKNYMAN HAYES, INCORPORATED (TNH)
FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES TO COMPLETE MISCELLANEOUS
T ASKS RELATING TO THE SEWARD SMALL BOAT HARBOR REPAIR
AND RENOVATION CAPITAL PROJECT ON A TIME AND MATERIALS
BASIS FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $30,000
WHEREAS, the North Harbor Repair and Renovation Capital Project is complete; and
WHEREAS, TNH has completed and fulfilled the task elements of their contract and have
provided additional claims assistance for claims submitted by the contractor; and
WHEREAS, the City is entering the post-contract and project period and, in order to keep
tasks and issues separate from the main body of the project, needs to close out the original contract;
and
WHEREAS, there are several miscellaneous tasks not part ofthe original contract budget
remaining that are follow-on items to the main contract; and
WHEREAS, per City of Seward Code of Ordinances 96.10.120, Engineering Services are
professional services and exempt from competitive procurement procedures; and
WHEREAS, these additional miscellaneous tasks would be completed on a time and
materials basis for an amount not to exceed $30,000, using re-programmed monies within the
existing project contingency line item.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement contract with Tryck
Nyman Hayes, Incorporated, for engineering services for an amount not to exceed $30,000 using re-
programmed monies within the existing proj ect contingency line item in the 315 proj ecL
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 10th
day of December 2001.
