CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 89-145
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE
OF SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT FOR THE FIRE TRUCK FROM
THE UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA WITHOUT FULL UTILIZATION
OF CITY BID PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, on October 23, 1989, the City Council approved
Resolution No. 89-124, authorizing the purchase of a used pumper
truck for the fire department subject to council approval of a
lease-purchase financing agreement: and
WHEREAS, certain equipment and supplies are needed for the new
truck: and
WHEREAS, fire-fighting equipment is highly specialized and is
manufactured and sold by a limited number of vendors: and
WHEREAS, The fire department has solicited price quotes and/or
proposals from all regular suppliers of fire equipment:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. For the reasons stated above, it is found to be
in the public interest to waive formal bid procedures for the
purchase of supplies and equipment for the fire truck.
section 2. Purchase of the supplies and equipment is
contingent upon City Council approval of Resolution No. 89-144.
approving a lease-purchase agreement for city equipment between the
City and security Pacific Bank, N.A.
section 3. The City Manager is authorized to issue purchase
orders for the purchase of supplies and equipment as follows:
Darley ........................... $ 412.15
L. N. curtis ..................... $12,988.00
Becker ...........................$ 1,676.00
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 27th day of November, 1989.
