CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 89-154
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL SALES TAX
CONTRIBUTIONS TO SEWARD GENERAL HOSPITAL
WHEREAS, the Seward City Council enacted Ordinance No. 507 on
March 8, 1982, adopting a one percent sales tax; and
WHEREAS, a referendum vote on Ordinance No. 507 was held on
April 20, 1982; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 507 was approved by a majority of the
qualified voters voting on the question; and
WHEREAS, revenues from the sales tax are now available as a
part of the City's general revenues to assist Seward General
Hospital; and
WHEREAS, the Administrator of Seward General Hospital has
requested that the Seward City eouncil contribute to the hospital
the full one percent sales tax collected by the City; and
WHEREAS, this contribution will be used for hospital
operations as authorized in the hospital's FY 1990 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of Fifty six Thousand, One Hundred Fifty
Six Dollars and Seventy Five eents ($56,156.75) for FY 1989 is
hereby appropriated from the General Fund, Fund Balance Account No.
101-0000-3050 to the General Government Service Account No. 101-
1185-5610 for the purpose of assisting Seward General Hospital.
The sum of Forty Nine Thousand, Three Hundred Seventy Four Dollars,
Forty Two eents, ($49,374.42) for 1st quarter FY 1990, is hereby
appropriated from the Sales Tax Revenue Account No. 101-0000-4120-
0100 to the General Government Service Account No. 101-1185-5610.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Seward,
Alaska, this llth day of December, 1989.
