CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 90-013
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, COMMEMORATING THE SEWARD LAGOON
BOARDWALK IN MEMORY AND HONOR OF DALE CLEMENS
WHEREAS, Mr. Dale Clemens, who passed away in January, 1990,
lived the greater part of his life in the community of Seward,
Alaska; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Clemens has contributed greatly to the community
as a teacher, basketball coach, member of Boards and Commissions,
businessman, and as a strong voice in the city; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Clemens was the leading force and coordinator of
the construction of the Seward Lagoon Boardwalk in the summer of
1987; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Clemens will be greatly missed in the community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, WISHES TO
HONOR MR. DALE CLEMENS AND COMMEMORATE HIS CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
PEOPLE AND THE COMMUNITY OF SEWARD IN THE MANNER PRESCRIBED BELOW;
Section 1. That the Seward Lagoon Boardwalk shall be declared
and titled as the DALE CLEMENS MEMORIAL BOARDWALK.
Section 2. That the City shall erect a plaque designating
this commemoration at a ceremony open to the public in the spring
of 1990.
section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 12th day of February, 1990.
