RESOLUTION 2000-011
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AMENDING THE FY 1999 SIX-MONTH BUDGET BY APPRO-
PRIATING $85,876.84 FROM SALES TAX REVENUES TO THE HOSPITAL
DEBT SERVICE FUND
WHEREAS, based upon the approved FY 1999 Six-Month Budget (and previous budgets),
it is the intent of Council to transfer 1 % of the 3 % sales tax to the Hospital Debt Service Fund
to be used to pay the debt service from the construction of the new medical facility, retire the
hospital Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) liability and provide monies for major
repair and replacement of the new medical facility; and
WHEREAS, the FY 99 six-month budget included an estimated amount of$401,667 to
be transferred from 1 % of the sales tax to the Hospital Debt Service Fund and the actual sales tax
collected from the Kenai Peninsula Borough for six-month period ending December 31, 1999 has
exceeded budget resulting in the need for a budget amendment to the General Fund operating
transfer to the Hospital Debt Service Fund; and
WHEREAS, based on the additional sales tax collected, an additional $85,876.84 needs
to be transferred from the General Fund to the Hospital Debt Service Fund..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The FY 1999 six-month budget be amended by appropriating $85,876.84 from
Sales Tax Revenues, account no. 101-0000-4120-0100 to the Hospital Debt Service Fund
Operating Transfers In, account no. 801-0000-3070-0000 effective December 31, 1999.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 24th
day of January, 2000.
