RESOLUTION 2000-013
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, SUPPORTING THE SEWARD SENIOR CITIZENS, INC.
REQUEST FOR A STATE OF ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTA-
TION AND PUBLIC FACILITIES GRANT FOR THE PURCHASE OF A
NEW VAN
WHEREAS, the Seward Senior Citizens, Inc. (SSCI) requires a reliable transportation
vehicle to distribute home-delivered meals, maintain weekly shopping trips, regularly respond to
medical/transportation needs and continue to offer monthly trips to other Alaskan communities; and
WHEREAS, the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority and the 5310 Federal Transit
Administration Elderly and Persons with Disabilities Program have funding available through the
State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities for the purchase of a new van;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council supports the Seward Senior Citizens, Inc. request for a State
of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities grant for the purchase of a new van.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 24th day
of January, 2000.
