CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 90-136 SUBSTITUTE
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING AN ON-CALL CONTRACT FOR
WINTER MAINTENANCE OF NASH ROAD AND SMIC
WHEREAS, the city advertised a request for proposals to
provide winter maintenance of Nash Road and the Seward Marine
Industrial Center; and
WHEREAS, responses to the RFP were received from both METCO,
Inc., and Afognak Logging; and
WHEREAS, both proposers are qualified to perform the work; and
WHEREAS, the work will involve plowing, snow removal and
sanding; and
WHEREAS, METCO submitted the low bid for snow plowing while
Afognak submitted the low bid for sanding; and
WHEREAS, Afognak Logging requested that their bid be withdrawn
per letter hand delivered to the City Engineer on October 29, 1990;
and
WHEREAS, it would be in the public interest to award a
contract to provide on-call winter maintenance of roads as needed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
a contract with METCO, Inc., to provide on-call winter road
maintenance for Seward, Nash Road and the SMIC, including truck
snow plowing, sanding, dump trucks, graders and loaders, for an
amount not to exceed $15,000.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 29th day of October, 1990.
