RESOLUTION 2000-019
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS THROUGH THE MOTOR POOL
FUND FOR THE RECENTLY PURCHASED PICKUP AND SANDER FOR
THE PUBLIC WORKS SNOW & ICE CONTROL DIVISION, THEREBY
RESCINDING SECTION 2 OF RESOLUTION 99-176 AND RESOLUTION
2000-007
WHEREAS, the City Council on December 13, 1999 approved Resolution 99-176
authorizing and appropriating funds for the purchase ofa used I-ton 4X4 pickup for $18,000 and
a new stainless steel sand-box for $5,000; and
WHEREAS, on January 10,2000, the City Council approved Resolution 2000-007 re-
appropriating $5,000 for the purchase of the sander due to the lapse of funds resulting from the
arrival of the sander after the close of fiscal period ending December 31, 1999; and
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends that the Motor Pool Fund purchase the
pickup and the sander so that funds can be set aside in the Motor Pool Fund to replace the vehicle
and sander in 7 to 10 years continuing the sound financial policy of providing future funds to
purchase vehicles and equipment as was intended when the Motor Pool Fund was established; and
WHEREAS, an additional $4,537 would need to be appropriated for the vehicle
payments from the Public Works Snow & Ice Control Division to the Motor Pool Fund for the
calendar year 2000 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. Funds in the amount of$18,000 be appropriated from the General Fund fund
balance, account 101-0000-3050 to the Motor Pool Fund Equipment, account 102-1020-5930,
effective for the fiscal period ending December 31, 1999, thereby rescinding the appropriation in
Section 2 of Resolution 99-176.
Section 2. Funds in the amount of$4,809.88 be appropriated from the General Fund fund
balance, account 101-0000-3050 to the Motor Pool Fund Equipment, account 102-1020-5930,
effective for the calendar year 2000 budget, thereby rescinding the appropriation in Resolution
2000-007.

Section 3. Funds in the amount of$4,536.36 be appropriated from the General Fund fund
balance, account 101-0000-3050 to the Public Works Snow & Ice Control Division, Vehicle
Rental, account 101-1310-5530 effective for the calendar year 2000 budget.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 14th
day of February, 2000.
