RESOLUTION 2000-030
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH GMG GENERAL IN THE AMOUNT OF $145,314 FOR
THE RECONDITIONING OF THREE ASPHALT PAVED STREETS,
BALLAINE BOULEVARD, BEAR DRIVE AND MARATHON DRIVE AND
APPROPRIATING FUNDS.
WHEREAS, funding was made available for reconditioning streets within the City of
Seward through the Capital Project funds for CY 2000; and
WHEREAS, the condition of three streets, Ballaine Boulevard, Bear Drive and Marathon
Drive, has deteriorated to a level which makes driving hazardous; and
WHEREAS, a request for bids to recondition these three asphalt streets -- Ballaine
Boulevard, Bear Drive and Marathon Drive -- was properly advertised:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of $159,845 is hereby appropriated: $145,314 from the Capital
Acquisition Fund, Account No. 103-0-3070-0291; $9,943 from the General Fund Project
Management Revenues, Account No. 101-0-4410-0410 to the Street Improvements Capital Project
Fund, Account No. 291-2910-5XXX.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City
of Seward with GMG General for an amount not to exceed $145,314 for the reconditioning of three
asphalt streets.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council ofthe city of Seward, Alaska, this 28th day
of March, 2000.
