CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 90-063
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, INCREASING THE CAMPGROUND
FEES FOR RECREATIONAL CAMPING VEHICLES
WHEREAS, the city of Seward currently charges $5.00 per night
for camping fees at Waterfront Park, Forest Acres Park and Spring
Creek; and
WHEREAS, a comparison shows fees are lower than those charged
in a majority of other communities; and
WHEREAS, the city of Seward does not assess campers for sewage
treatment costs; and
WHEREAS, the city of Seward desires to offset the cost of
sewage treatment of the waste discharged by recreational vehicles
into the city's sewer system; and
WHEREAS, the city wishes to raise revenues to construct
additional park improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. A fee of $6.00 per night per unit shall be charged
for each recreational camping vehicle, including those with self-
contained water-sewer systems, occupying the city's public
campgrounds.
Section 2. A fee of $5.00 per night per unit shall be charged
for each tent camper occupying the city's public campgrounds.
Section 3. This new fee schedule shall not apply to caravans
previously confirmed for the 1990 camping season.
Section 4. All prior resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby rescinded.
Section 5. This resolution shall take effect July 1, 1990.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 11th day of June, 1990.
