CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 90-075
OF
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
SEWARD, ALASKA, ACCEPTING THE CONCEPTUAL DEVELOPMENT
PLAN FOR SEWARD WATERFRONT FACILITIES AS PREPARED
BY PERATROVICH, NOTTINGHAM AND DRAGE
WHEREAS, the city requested a joint study for the Seward
Waterfront Development Plan be performed by the Alaska Department
of Transportation and Public Facilities and the University of
Alaska; and
WHEREAS, the city of Seward the University of Alaska have each
contracted with peratrovich, Nottingham and Drage to develop a
Conceptual Waterfront Plan which would incorporate dock space for
the University, the M/V Tustumena, cruise ships and future Small
Boat Harbor expansion; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation and Public Facili-
ties has reviewed and approved the proposed concept plan; and
WHEREAS, the plan was prepared in close cooperation with the
city staff, and it meets the projected needs of the city and
incorporates the concerns of local citizens; and
WHEREAS, the plan appears to be a reasonable and practical
means of developing the waterfront;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council hereby accepts the plan which
proposes locating the AMHS, IMS and Cruise Ship Dock south of the
Seward Small Boat Harbor.
Section 2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council
recommends that the Alaska Marine Highway System and the Univer-
sity of Alaska proceed to design, fund and construct their
facilities as early as possible, staging the work as funding
directs, with continued planning for a joint facility capable of
meeting the needs of all the parties.

Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
