RESOLUTION NO. 90-077
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ADJUSTING THE FISCAL YEAR 1991
POLICE DEPARTMENT BUDGET TO ALLOW FOR THE UPGRADE
FOR AN ADDITIONAL PATROL OFFICER POSITION
WHEREAS, the city of Seward is intent upon providing life
safety and protection services; and
WHEREAS, the city is experiencing an increase in the amount
of law enforcement activity in the community because of the
community's growth; and
WHEREAS, the city's law enforcement services are under strain
to accommodate the calls for support and violator contract;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The utility Officer position in the Police
Department is hereby upgraded to Patrol Officer.
Section 2. The Fiscal Year 1991 budget, General Fund
Expenditures, shall be adjusted in the amount of $10,000 in the
Police Department line items to accommodate the position upgrade.
Section 3. The Fiscal Year 1991 budget, General Fund
Revenues, shall be adjusted by increasing "Fines and Bails" by
$5,000 and the "Interest Earnings" by $5,000 to balance the budget
revision in expenditures.
Section 4. The Utility Officer position in the Police
Department shall be deleted.
Section 5. This resolution shall take effect July 1, 1990.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 25th day of June, 1990.
