CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION 2000-048
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR A
REIMBURSABLE HISTORIC PRESERVATION GRANT
WHEREAS, the State Office of History and Archaeology has reimbursable matching grant
funds available for Certified Local Governments to attend the National Alliance of Preservation
Commissions Pittsburgh Forum 2000 on August 4-6; and
WHEREAS, the conference registration and travel expenses will be reimbursed one hundred
percent by the grant because the Commissioner=s time traveling to and attending the conference
provides the City=s 40% match; and
WHEREAS, four members of the Historic Preservation Commission have expressed an
interest in attending the Pittsburgh Forum 2000; and
WHEREAS, no training or travel funds were budgeted for the Historic Preservation
Commission; and
WHEREAS, due to the financial burden of these costs, the Commission has requested that
the City provide the initial funds for the conference travel and registration; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward will be one hundred percent reimbursed for the appropriated
funds through a State Office of History and Archaeology grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City of Seward Alaska accept a Reimbursable grant from the Office of
History and Archaeology in the estimated amount of six thousand dollars.
Section 2. Funds in the amount of six thousand dollars is hereby appropriated from State
Revenue Grant 890-8903-4680-0200 to Historic Preservation Fund Travel and Training 890-
8903-5XXX.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 8th day
of May, 2000.
