<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sponsored by: Janke <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />RESOLUTION 2000-049 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, <br />ALASKA, AMENDING THE CONTRACT WITH GMG GENERAL, TO <br />INCLUDE, APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE PATCHING OF CITY <br />STREETS AND UTILITY CUTS, PAVING A PARKING LOT AND B PATH <br />EXTENSION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an asphalt paving contractor is scheduled to recondition streets within the City; <br /> <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there are additional paving projects within the City, including street patching, <br />a parking lot, electric utility cuts, and bike paths; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, over $5,000 has been spent this spring on cold patching of minor potholes, <br />which will still need additional maintenance, the cost of continuous maintenance and repair of cold <br />patching out weighs the cost of hot patching; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, additional paved parking can be gained in the harbor with a slight increase in <br />cost; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funding is available in the Electric Enterprise Fund to patch utility cuts in the <br />pavement; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, funds are available in the Bike Path Grant to pave bike path extension. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The sum of $111,363 is hereby appropriated from the General Fund, Fund <br />Balance, Account # 10 1-0000-3070-0291, to the Street Improvements Capital Project Fund, Account <br />No. 291-291O-5XXX. <br /> <br />Section 2. The sum of 11,908 is hereby appropriated from the Parking Revenue Enterprise <br />Fund Retained Earnings account #403-0000-3070-652 to the Parking Lot Paving account #652-6520- <br />5390. <br />Section 5. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a change order to the contract, <br />on behalf of the City of Seward, with GMG General for an amount not to exceed $140,241 for the <br />paving of numerous City projects. <br />
