CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 90-112
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
AGREEMENT FOR DESIGN OF THE 115 KV TRANSMISSION
LINE FROM LAWING TO SEWARD
WHEREAS, a request for proposals to design aIlS KV transmis-
sion line from Lawing to Seward was properly advertised, and two
firms responded; and
WHEREAS, Dryden & Larue, Inc., were determined to be the best
qualified to perform the professional design services; and
WHEREAS, it is estimated the total cost of design services
will cost $478,585, which is six percent (6%) of the total cost of
construction and materials necessary to complete the transmission
line; and
WHEREAS, the actual cost of design of the total project cannot
be accurately estimated at this stage of the project; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has proposed to perform design tasks
1 through 6, including reimbursable cost of aerial photography and
survey, for a cost of $139,200;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
a contract with Dryden & Larue, Inc., to provide professional
engineering and design services necessary to construct aIlS KV
transmission line from Lawing (Mile 25, Seward Highway) to Seward
for a budgeted cost not to exceed six percent (6%) of the cost of
construction and materials of the line.
Section 2. The City Manager is further authorized to give a
Notice to Proceed with design Tasks 1 through 6 for an estimated
cost not to exceed $109,200, for engineering; $10,000 reimbursable
cost of aerial photography; and $20,000 reimbursable cost for
surveying; for a total not to exceed cost of $139,200.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 24th day of September, 1990.
