CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 90-116
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING A SHORT TERM LEASE
AGREEMENT WITH CHUGACH ALASKA CORPORATION WITHIN
THE SEWARD MARINE INDUSTRIAL CENTER FOR THE STORAGE
OF A MODULAR LOGGING CAMP
WHEREAS, Chugach Alaska Corporation, on behalf of its
subsidiary, Chugach Development Corporation, leased a site within
the Seward Marine Industrial Center during the period September 28,
1989, through May 1, 1990, for the temporary storage of a modular
logging camp; and
WHEREAS, because of delays in permitting and operational
commitments, the camp was not able to be relocated, and Chugach
Alaska Corporation leased the site for another 120 days; and
WHEREAS, Chugach Alaska Corporation is in the process of
disposing of the modular units and wishes to continue its lease
arrangement for a period not to exceed February 28, 1991; and
WHEREAS, the subject property has not been identified for any
other use by the city during the proposed term of this lease; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to waive appraisal and
to enter into this short term lease agreement at a rate determined
by the city administration, based on other leases in the area, to
be a fair market rental rate;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute
the lease agreement attached and incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect thirty (30) days
after its adoption and only after arrangements satisfactory to the
City Manager have been made for payment of past due amounts to the
city.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 24th day of September, 1990.
