CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 90-122
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, ACCEPTING A GRANT FROM THE KENAI
PENINSULA BOROUGH AND APPROPRIATING CITY FUNDS FOR
THE OPERATION OF A COMMUNITY SCHOOLS PROGRAM FOR
THE 1990-1991 SCHOOL YEAR
WHEREAS, the community is in need of public athletic facili-
ties and classroom space for the conduct of recreation and leisure
programs for youth and adults in the after school and evening hours
during the fall and winter months; and
WHEREAS, in the past years,
Program has made such facilities
local citizenry; and
the Seward Community Schools
and programs available to the
WHEREAS, the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District will
contribute $7,000 to the city of Seward for the operation of a
community schools program in Seward for the 1990-91 school year;
and
WHEREAS, the projected revenues from user fees and special
events are estimated to be slightly over $7,000; and
WHEREAS, the community will benefit from varied programs in
recreation, physical activities, leisure activities and adjust
education offerings that would be provided through a community
schools program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1.
Peninsula Borough
hereby accepted.
A grant in the amount of $7,000 from the Kenai
for the 1990-91 Community Schools Program is
Section 2. The sum of $7,000 is hereby appropriated from
Parks & Recreation Miscellaneous Grants Account No. 101-0000-4470-
0130; the sum of $8,876.00 is hereby appropriated from the Parks &
Recreation Fees Account No. 101-0000-4470-0100; and the total sum
of $15,876.00 is appropriated to the Parks & Recreation Department
Budget Account No. 101-1400-XXXX.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
