CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION 2000-052
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH SWENSON CONSTRUCTION COMPANY TO
CONSTRUCT A STORAGE BUILDING AT FT. RAYMOND SUBSTATION
FOR A PRICE NOT- TO-EXCEED $50,000.
WHEREAS, The City of Seward has designed and submitted for bids a storage building to
be located at the Ft. Raymond Substation; and,
WHEREAS, On~ contractor, Swenson Construction, responded to the request for bids for
this building; and
WHEREAS, Although Swenson Construction's bid for this building as submitted was
$62,148.00, they have agreed to make certain modifications in the construction which will allow them
to build the structure for the City budgeted figure of $50,000; and
WHEREAS, The City has agreed to the modifications as proposed by Swenson Construction;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Swenson
Construction to construct a storage building at the Ft. Raymond Substation for a not-to-exceed price
of$50,000.
Section. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 22nd
day of May 2000.
