She explained that the City Council would be holding a puhl1c hearing <br />and making a decision on the name for the future park at the February 25, 2002 meeting. <br /> <br />James reported that the City Council had selected Sandra Wassilie as the Centennial Events <br />Coordinator. She reported that the topic of the January loth Spirit of Seward (SOS) meeting had <br />been the Seward 2003 Centennial. Noting that there had been representatives from various industries <br />and organizations including the Alaska Railroad Corporation and the Cruise Line Industry present. <br />James reminded the Commission that the Centennial Committee held their meetings on the last <br />Tuesday of the month, at 7:00 p.m., in the library basement. She encouraged the Commissioners to <br />attend the meetings. <br /> <br />James reviewed the Commissions annual Historic Preservation Award program. She <br />noted the deadline for nominations was March 1, 2002, with the presentation of the award during <br />historic preservation week in May. She also noted that the annual Trolley Tour of Seward's <br />National Historic Register Sites would be scheduled during the same week. James noted that the <br />Seward trolley wa<t always questionable due to lack of drivers and/or mechanical problems. <br /> <br />Commission recommended asking Brad Snowden to donate the Best Western shuttle bus <br />as a back up ifthe trolley was not available. <br /> <br />Citizen Comments On Agenda Items Not Scheduled For Public Hearing - None <br /> <br />Approval of Agenda And Consent Agenda <br /> <br />Motion (AppeVKovac) <br /> <br />Approve the Agenda and Consent Agenda. <br /> <br />Motion Passed <br /> <br />Unanimous Consent <br /> <br />Vice-Chair Hearn noted that the Uecember 12, 2001 regular meeting minutes were approved, <br />as written on the Consent Agenda. <br />
