HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
RESOLUTION NO. 2S::08
A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD HISTORIC PRESERVATION
COMMISSION, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD THE CON-
TRACT FOR PHASE II OF THE SEWARD HISTORIC PRESERVATION PLAN TO TIM
SCZA WINSKI AND MADEL YN WALKER
WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of the Historic Preservation Commission to develop
a historic preservation plan that will include provisions for the identification, protection and
interpretation of the area's significant resources; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward applied for and was awarded a matching grant totalling
$7503.00 from the Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks and Outdoor
Recreation, State Historic Preservation Office, to complete the Seward Historic Preservation Plan;
and
WHEREAS, a request for proposals for professional services to complete phase II of the
Seward Historic Preservation Plan was published in the Seward Phoenix Log on May 18, 1995;
and
WHEREAS, a joint proposal, meeting the requirements of the project budget, scope of
work and professional qualifications, was received by Tim Sczawinski and Madelyn Walker on
June 2, 1995; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Historic Preservation
Commission that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to award the contract for phase II of
the Seward Historic Preservation Plan to Tim Sczawinski and Madelyn Walker.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Seward Historic Preservation Commission this 21st
day of June, 1995.
