RESOLUTION 2004-01
A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION,
REQUESTING PARTNERSHIP OPTIONS WITH THE PIONEERS OF ALASKA FOR
THE FIRST FRIDAY FIRESIDE HISTORICAL LECTURE SERIES FOR THE 2004-
2005 SEASON
WHEREAS, the Seward Historic Preservation Commission initiated the First Friday
Fireside Historical Lecture Series, which ran from October, 2003 to April, 2004 ; and
WHEREAS, the 2004-2005 session of the Lecture Series is scheduled to begin in
October, 2004, and
WHEREAS, the Commission looks forward to establishing partnerships with other
organizations in the community who share similar enthusiasm for presenting and preserving local
history; and
WHEREAS, the Commission would like to provide the Pioneers of Alaska with the
opportunity to be involved with the First Friday Fireside Historical Lecture Series during the
2004-2005 season; and
WHEREAS, the supporting tasks associated with hosting the Lecture Series are:
1. finding speakers and securing release forms,
2. advertising,
3. coordinating for the use of a facility,
4. acquiring snacks and door prizes,
5. emceeing the presentation,
6. recording the presentation; and
WHEREAS, if the Pioneers of Alaska would like to be involved with any or all of the
supporting tasks it would be greatly appreciated by the Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Historic Preservation
Commission that:
Section 1. The Commission would like to formally invite the Pioneers of Alaska to
consider a partnership to assist in the hosting of the First Friday Fireside Historical Lecture
Series during the 2004-2005 season.
