HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1996-020 Sponsored by Staff CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 26:Z.O A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION, GRANTING A SIX MONTH TIME EXTENSION OF THE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT ISSUED TO DANIEL CLAUGUS TO RENOVATE, DEVELOP AND OPERATE A HOTEL COMPLEX AT THE JESSE LEE HOME ON LOT 15B, JESSE LEE HEIGHTS SUBDIVISION, ADDITION NO.4 WHEREAS, Daniel Claugus was granted a Conditional Use Permit by Resolution No. 96- 05 for development and operation of a hotel complex on Lot 15B, Jesse Lee Heights Subdivision; and WHEREAS, according to Mr. Claugus the size of the historic Jesse Lee Home and complexity associated with renovating a building listed on the National Register of Historic Places has delayed project construction until early 1997; and WHEREAS, Mr. Claugus has requested a six-month extension of the Conditional Use Permit to provide time to complete the architectural plans, and ensure that the proposed renovation conforms with the Secretary of Interior's renovation standards so that the building will remain listed on the National Register of Historic Places. WHEREAS, SCC ~ 15.10.320 E. allows the Planning and Zoning Commission to grant extensions not to exceed six months each upon a finding that the circumstances have not changed sufficiently to warrant a reconsideration of the approval of the Conditional Use Permit. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission that: Section 1. Circumstances have not changed sufficiently to warrant a reconsideration of the approval of the Conditional Use Permit granted to Daniel Claugus for development of a hotel complex on Lot 15B, Jesse Lee Heights Subdivision, Addition No.4. Section 2. Daniel Claugus is hereby granted a six-month extension through May 3, 1997, of the Conditional Use Permit authorized by Seward Planning and Zoning Commission Resolution No. 96-05. Section 3. Any related construction or use of Lot 15A, Jesse Lee Heights Subdivision Addition No.4 or Lot 2, Jesse Lee Heights Subdivision, Addition No.2, will require an amendment to the original Conditional Use Permit. Seward Planning and Zoning Commission Resolution No. 96-20 Page 2 Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
