RESOLUTION NO. 22=01
A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMIS-
SION, GRANTING A SIX MONTH EXTENSION OF THE CONDITIONAL
USE PERMIT ISSUED TO GORDON TURNER TO DEVELOP A HOTEL
WITHIN THE EXISTING BUILDING AT 225 FOURTH A VENUE ON THE
SOUTH 7' 2" OF LOT 7 AND ALL OF LOT 8, BLOCK 10, ORIGINAL
TOWNSITE OF SEWARD
WHEREAS, on January 6, 1999 the Planning & Zoning Commission approved Resolution
99-01 which granted a conditional use permit to Gordon Turner to develop a hotel within the
existing building at 225 Fourth Avenue on the south 7' 2" of Lot 7 and all of Lot 8, Block 10,
Original Townsite of Seward; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Code stipulates that an approved conditional use permit lapses
six (6) months after approval if no building permit is procured or if the allowed use is not initiated;
and
WHEREAS, SCC ~ 15.10.320 (E) states that the Commission may grant time extensions
not to exceed six months each upon a finding that circumstances have not changed sufficiently to
warrant a reconsideration of the approval of the conditional use permit; and
WHEREAS, on July 15, 1999 Gordon Turner submitted a verbal request for a six month
extension of the approved conditional use permit receipt of which staff acknowledged by fax; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning
Commission that:
Section 1. Circumstances have not changed sufficiently to warrant reconsideration of the
Conditional Use Permit issued to Gordon Turner on January 6, 1999.
Section 2. The Conditional Use Permit issued to Gordon Turner on January 6, 1999, is
hereby extended until February 2, 2000.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission this 4th day
of August, 1999.
