PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
RESOLUTION NO. 2001-17
RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMIS-
SION, RECOMMENDING CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF THE 2002-2004
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN WITH THE CALENDAR YEAR 2002
BUDGET
WHEREAS, in preparation for the development of the Calendar Year 2002 budget, in
August the City Finance Director requested that City Department Managers submit three year capital
budget requests by September 15, 2001; and
WHEREAS, a capital project is defined as any single repair, project or improvement with a
cost of at least $20,000 and an expected usefullif exceeding one year; and
WHEREAS, a capital improvement plan is a local governments plan to prioritize, finance and
construct or repair major public works projects; and
WHEREAS, using a capital improvement plan is one of the best ways to implement a
comprehensive plan; and
WHEREAS, the Commission reviewed the 2001-2003 Capital Improvement Plan and
department requests at its September 18,2001 work session.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning
Commission that:
Section 1. The Commission recommends City Council approval of the attached 2002-2004
Capital Improvement Plan with the Calendar Year 2002 budget.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission this 3rd day
of October, 2001.
