HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes2001-018 Sponsored by: Staff CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 2001-'8 RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMIS- SION, PROVIDING A RECOMMENDATION TO THE CITY COUNCIL REGARDING A PROPOSAL BY BLAINE BARDARSON TO PURCHASE CITY-OWNED LOT 1, U.S. SURVEY 3294 WHEREAS, Blaine Bardarson has submitted a written request to purchase Lot 1, U.S. Survey 3294 from the City of Seward; and WHEREAS, Lot 1, U.S.S. 3294 is a 1.33 acre parcel located on the east shore of Resurrection Bay; and WHEREAS, the property is separated from Nash Road by city-owned Tract H, Fourth of July Creek Subdivision, and therefore has no dedicated road access; and ~, WHEREAS, although the Municipal Lands Management Plan identifies this parcel as surplus - and available for disposal through sale or trade, it is not good public policy for the City to sell property that does not have dedicated access; and WHEREAS, over the years there have been numerous inquires from the public to purchase property in this area; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission that: Section 1. The Commission recommends that the City Council not dispose of Lot 1, U.S. Survey 3294 as it is currently platted. Section 2. The Commission further recommends that Lot I, U.S.S. 3294 be combined with Tract H, Fourth of July Creek Subdivision, Number 2 so that the property has dedicated access, and following completion of the subdivision that the property be put out for bid. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption. ~, PASSED AND APPROVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission this 4th day of December, 2001.
