RESOLUTION NO. 2002-08
RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMIS-
SION, RECOMMENDING KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH APPROVAL OF
THE OCEANVIEW SUBDIVISION ADDITION NO 2 BLOCK SA
PRELIMINARY PLAT SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS
WHEREAS, Rodney P Kinney Associates, Inc. has submitted a preliminary plat of
Oceanview Subdivision Addition No.2 Block 5A, a resubdivision of Ocean view Subdivision Addition
No.1, Block 5A for the City's review; and
WHEREAS, it is the Planning and Zoning Commission's responsibility to act in an advisory
capacity to the Kenai Peninsula Borough regarding subdivision plat proposals; and
WHEREAS, as required by Seward City Code Section 16.01.015 Conditions to plat
approval, property owners within 300 feet of Block 5A, Oceanview Subdivision were notified of the
proposed subdivision, and the property was posted with a public notice sign; and
WHEREAS, the property in this subdivision is zoned Institutional and the proposed lots are
in compliance with the minimum lot size, and width requirements of the Seward City Code Title 15
(Zoning Code); and
WHEREAS, a subdivision installation agreement will not be required for this subdivision
because all of the public improvements required by the Seward City Code Title 16 (Subdivision Code)
are already provided to the property; and
WHEREAS, additional public utility easements are necessary to cover existing public utility
systems located on, and adjacent to, the subdivision; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning
Commission that:
Section 1. The Commission recommends Kenai Peninsula Borough approval of the
Oceanview Subdivision Addition No.2 Block 5A preliminary plat subject to the following conditions:
1. Change the subdivision title to replace Addition No.2 with University Replat. The property
(Block 5A) has been replatted a number of times since Oceanview Subdivision Addition No.1
was established by Plat No. 65.
