RESOLUTION NO. 2002-09
RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMIS-
SION, RECOMMENDING CITY COUNCIL AND KENAI PENINSULA
BOROUGH APPROVAL OF THE FOURTH OF JULY CREEK
SUBDIVISION SEWARD MARINE INDUSTRIAL CENTER SEWARD
SHIP'S DRYDOCK REPLAT SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS
WHEREAS, Cline and Associates Land Surveyors has submitted a preliminary plat of Fourth
of July Creek Subdivision, Seward Marine Industrial Center, Seward Ship's Drydock Replat for the
City's review; and
WHEREAS, the property is owned by the City of Seward and leased to Seward Ship's
Drydock. Seward Ship's Drydock is replatting the property in accordance with the terms ofthe lease
agreement which the City Council amended to expand the lease site by Resolution 2001-115; and
WHEREAS, it is the Planning and Zoning Commission's responsibility to act in an advisory
capacity to the Kenai Peninsula Borough regarding subdivision plat proposals; and
WHEREAS, as required by Seward City Code Section 16.01.015 Conditions to plat
approval, property owners within 300 feet ofthe Fourth of July Creek Subdivision Seward Marine
Industrial Center, Seward Ship's Drydock Replat were notified of the proposed subdivision, and the
property was posted with a public notice sign; and
WHEREAS, the property in this subdivision is zoned Industrial and the proposed lots are in
compliance with the minimum lot size, and width requirements of the Seward City Code Title 15
(Zoning Code); and
WHEREAS, a subdivision installation agreement will not be required for this subdivision
because all of the public improvements required by the Seward City Code Title 16 (Subdivision Code)
are already provided to the property; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning
Commission that:
