<br />Sponsored by: Staff <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />RESOLUTION 2003-01 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION, <br />GRANTING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO CARLILE <br />TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS, INC., FOR THE USE OF A TRAILER, <br />TEMPORARY OFFICE IN THE INDUSTRIAL ZONING DISTRICT UPON A <br />PARCEL OF LAND LOCATED WITHIN U.S. SURVEY 9000, THE ALASKA <br />RAILROAD SEWARD TERMINAL RESERVE SITUATED IN THE SEWARD <br />RECORDING DISTRICT, THIRD JUDICIAL DISTRICT, STATE OF ALASKA <br />AND MORE SPECIFICALLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />COMMENCING AT THE NORTH SHORELINE AND THE WEST EDGE OF <br />THE ALASKA RAILROAD FREIGHT DOCK, THENCE NORTH <br />APPROXIMATELY 435 FEET AND 75 FEET WEST OF THE SHORELINE OF <br />THE LOG LAGOON TO THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF SAID PARCEL AND <br />THE TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING. THENCE CONTINUING NORTH ALONG <br />THE WEST SIDE OF THE FREIGHT DOCK ACCESS ROAD 400 FEET TO <br />THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF SAID PARCEL. THENCE IN A WESTERLY <br />DIRECTION, 50 FEET TO THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SAID PARCEL. <br />THENCE IN A SOUTHERLY DIRECTION, 50 FEET WEST AND PARALLEL <br />TO THE FREIGHT DOCK ACCESS ROAD, A DISTANCE OF 400 FEET TO <br />THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF SAID PARCEL. THENCE EASTERLY 50 <br />FEET TO THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF SAID PARCEL AND THE TRUE <br />POINT OF BEGINNING, CONTAINING 20,000 SQUARE FEET, MORE OR <br />LESS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Carlile Transportation Systems, Inc. has applied for a conditional use <br />permit from the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission to have a Trailer, temporary office <br />use on a portion of land owned by the Alaska Railroad Corporation in order to support their <br />freight terminal operations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, they have a special land use permit from the property owner; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the property is in the Industrial Zoning District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, according to the Seward City Code, Land Uses Allowed Table 15.10.225, <br />"Trailer, temporary office" is a conditionally permitted use in the Industrial Zoning District; and <br />
