<br />Postponed Indefinitely; see Reso 2003-18 <br /> <br />Sponsored by: Staff <br /> <br />CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />RESOLUTION 2003-07 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, <br />RECOMMENDING CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL OF A PARTIAL <br />V ACA TION OF RIGHT OF WAY OF THE UNDEVELOPED <br />ALLEY ALONG THE EAST BOUNDARY OF TWO LAKES PARK, <br />IN RETURN THE CITY WILL RECEIVE LOTS 21 AND 22, <br />BLOCK 11, LAUBNER ADDITION TO SEWARD. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the applicants, Louis and Dianne Bencardino have requested that <br />the City Council approve a partial vacation of right of way of the undeveloped alley <br />along the East boundary of Two Lakes Park, in return the city will receive Lots 21 and <br />22, Block 11, Laubner Addition to Seward; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this trade would allow the applicants to build closer to the hillside <br />behind their property and would increase their landholdings, property value and the <br />enjoyment of their property; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, these portions of the alley adjacent to their property are <br />undeveloped because of steep topography; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this trade would provide more land for Two Lakes Park and allow <br />the City to move closer to replatting all of Two Lakes Park into one parcel as requested <br />by the Commission at the joint work session with Council, May 2002.; and <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the applicant shall pay for the surveying and title costs necessary; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this trade is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan, the Strategic <br />Plan and the Municipal Lands Management Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the public notification process has been complied with. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning <br />Commission that: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Commission recommends that Seward City Council approve a <br />partial vacation of right of way of the undeveloped alley along the East boundary of Two <br />
