RESOLUTION NO. 2004-01
A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING
COMMISSION, RECOMMENDING KENAI PENINSULA
BOROUGH APPROVAL OF THE AFOGNAK ACRES
SUBDIVISION NO.1, A SUBDIVISION OF: PORTIONS OF LOT 1
AND THE NE 'h OF THE NE 'h SECTION 33 TOWNSHIP 1
NORTH, RANGE 1 WEST, SEWARD MERIDIAN, ALASKA, CITY
OF SEWARD, SEWARD RECORDING DISTRICT, CONTAINING
18.51 ACRES, SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS
WHEREAS, Cline & Associates has submitted a preliminary plat to the City of
Seward for the Afognak Acres Subdivision No.1, a Subdivision of: Portions of Section
Lot 1 and the NE Y. of the NE Y. Section 33 Township 1 North, Range 1 West, Seward
Meridian, Alaska, City of Seward, Seward Recording District, containing 18.51 acres, for
review and recommendation to the Kenai Peninsula Borough; and
WHEREAS, the subdivision divides portions oflots into fourteen (14) lots and
dedicates right-of-way to be named Afognak Avenue and creates an extension of Ash
Street; and
WHEREAS, the property is zoned Single Family Residential which is intended to
provide for stable and quiet low to medium density (one to five dwellings per acre)
detached single-family residential development, free from other uses except those which
are both compatible and convenient to residents of such a district; and
WHEREAS, the new lots meet the minimum lot size and width requirements of
the Seward Zoning Code; and
WHEREAS, this subdivision will provide more land for development within the
City of Seward, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Seward City Code, the Commission held a
public hearing on the preliminary plat at its January 6, 2004 regular meeting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning
Commission that:
