PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
RESOLUTION 2004-06
A RESOLUTION OF THE SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA,
RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL AMEND THE
SEWARD CITY CODE TABLE 15.10.220., DEVELOPMENT
REQUIREMENTS, TO DECREASE SETBACKS IN THE
INDUSTRIAL ZONING DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has requested amendments be made to
the Zoning Code; and
WHEREAS, the public notification process has been complied with.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning
Commission that:
Section 1. The Commission recommends Ordinance 2004- be forwarded to
City Council for approval.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission this 3rd
day of February, 2004.

ORDINANCE 2004-
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AMENDING SEWARD CITY CODE TABLE 15.10.220.
DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS, TO DECREASE THE SETBACKS
IN THE INDUSTRIAL ZONING DISTRICT
WHEREAS, various Industrial property owners and lease holders have requested
decreasing the setbacks in the Industrial Zoning District; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission wishes to respond to the concerns of the public
and promote economic growth; and
WHEREAS, decreasing the setbacks may increase the economic potential of privately
owned, City owned and other publicly owned lands; and
WHEREAS, decreasing the setbacks may continue to provide for the orderly and stable
development of the Industrial Zoning District; and
WHEREAS, decreasing the setbacks may still allow for fire department laddering
operations; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to maintain a city code that reflects community
needs; and
WHEREAS, at its February 3rd, 2004 meeting, the Planning and Zoning Commission
held a public hearing and recommended City Council approval of the proposed Zoning Code
amendment.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF SEWARD ORDAINS that:
Section 1.
Seward City Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Table 15.10.220 Develooment Requirements is hereby amended as follows
