CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION 2000-063
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INCREASE THE
AUTHORIZED AMOUNT OF GMG GENERAL INC. FOR PAVING BY
$17,045 TO COVER PAVING OF TWO BIKE PA THS ON JEFFERSON AND
4TH A VENUE.
WHEREAS, The administration has received a $56,000 grant from the State of Alaska to
install Bike Paths in various locations in the City of Seward; and,
WHEREAS, A new Bike path along the north side of Jefferson, between 3rd Avenue and
Glacier View Apartments will cost approximately $3,612; and,
WHEREAS, A new bike path along 4th Avenue from the end of the existing Bike Path at 4th
Avenue and Van Buren Street, along the East side of 4th Avenue to the paved area just south of the
boat launch ramp on 4th Avenue will cost approximately $6,480; and,
WHEREAS, The total amount requested as an additional authorized amount for GMG
General Inc. is $17,045; and,
WHEREAS, It is important to do this work while a paver is in town,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to increase the authorized amount for paving by
GMG General Inc. by $17,045 to cover paving for two additional Bike Paths ofJefferson Street and
4th Avenue.
Section 2. Funding is to be from a State Grant as accepted by Council, Account No. 289-
2890-5390.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward, Alaska, this 12th day
ofJune, 2000.
