HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd2000-010I I Sponsored by: Planning & Zoning Commission Introduction Date: April 24, 2000 Public Hearing Date: May 8, 2000 Enactment Date: May 8, 2000 CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA ORDINANCE 2000-10 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING THE ZONING OF LOT 7, BLOCK 2, OCEANVIEW SUBDIVISION FROM SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL TO AUTO COMMERCIAL WHEREAS, the owner of Lot 7, Block 2, Oceanview Subdivision has requested that the property be rezoned from Single-Family Residential (Rl) to Auto Commercial (AC); and WHEREAS, the Land Use Plan designates the property as Auto Commercial, therefore the request is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan; WHEREAS, the request is also consistent with the Strategic Plan which recomrtiends bringing the Zoning Map into conformance with the Land Use Plan; and WHEREAS, the existing use of the property as a church and mariner's center are both allowed uses in the Auto Commercial district; and . WHEREAS, the property is bordered by commercial zoning to the north, south, and east; and WHEREAS, at its April 4, 2000 meeting, the Planning & Zoning Commission held a public hearing and recommended that the City Council rezone Lot 7, Block 2, Oceanview Subdivision to Auto Commercial; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA HEREBY ORDAINS that: Section 1. The Official City of Seward Zoning Map is hereby amended by changing the zoning designation of Lot 7, Block 2, Oceanview Subdivision from Single-Family Residential to Auto Commercial. Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following its enactment. ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, this 8 day of May, 2000. .
