RESOLUTION NO. 87-006
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, APPROPRIATING AND TRANSFERRING FUNDS
FROM THE GENERAL FUND-FUND BALANCE TO THE COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BUDGET
WHEREAS, the Seward City Code requires that city lands
must be disposed of at fair market value unless it is found
to be in the public interest to do otherwise; and
WHEREAS, the city is now in a position to begin actual
lease negotiations with prospective businesses for property
located in the Fourth of July Creek valley and the Seward
Marine Industrial Center; and
WHEREAS, the cost of a land appraisal to determine a
range of fair market values for various sized parcels and
various locations will total $7,500; and
WHEREAS, funds were not appropriated in the FY 1987
budget to cover the cost of appraisal of the subject prop-
erties; and
WHEREAS, funding made available for the development of
a new community brochure affords the city only the oppor-
tuni ty to have a color cover with black and white photos
elsewhere in the brochure; and
WHEREAS, the city has been unable to obtain sufficient
black and white photos for such a project; and
WHEREAS, it now appears that there is a
additional $2,000 to produce this brochure

RESOLUTION NO. 87-006
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of $14,500 is hereby appropriated
from the General Fund-Fund Balance Account No. 101-000-271-
00-00 to the Community Development Budget for the purpose of
funding an appraisal of property located in the Fourth of
July Creek valley and the Seward Marine Industrial Center,
for upgrading the community brochure from black and white to
color photographs, and for production of a community tourism
brochure.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
