CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 87-073
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT TO PAVE NASH ROAD
WITHOUT FULL UTILIZATION OF CITY BID PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, paving and drainage of Nash Road is essential
for reasonable access to the shiplift; and
WHEREAS, Harley Trucking Company has mobilized and is
operating an asphalt plant in Seward until about September
20, 1987; and
WHEREAS, no other supply of asphalt is available
locally; and
WHEREAS, Harley Trucking Company has agreed to pave the
extension of Nash Road from Spring Creek bridge to the cargo
dock for an amount not to exceed $50,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The public interest would best be served by
awarding a contract to Harley Trucking Company to pave the
Nash Road extension for an amount not to exceed $50,000.
Section 2. The city manager is hereby authorized to
establish a paving project account totalling $55,000, which
includes a $5,000 contingency, within the shiplift project
account to fund paving the Nash Road extension.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
