CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 88-054
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR HARBORMASTER
BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, a request for bids was properly advertised for
construction of certain improvements to the Harbormaster' s
Building: and
WHEREAS, METCO was the low bidder by virtue of the five
percent (5%) preference for local businesses: and
WHEREAS, all bids exceeded the funds available for the
project: and
WHEREAS, this work is to be funded by Federal Revenue
Sharing funds appropriated by Resolution No. 87-095 and
these funds expire if not committed by June 1, 1988, making
it impossible to rebid the project: and
WHEREAS, METCO, as low bidder, has agreed to submit a
price to be negotiated for a reduced scope of work; and
WHEREAS, the price agreed upon between the city and
METCO is reasonable for the reduced scope of work:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Council finds METCO to be the low
bidder on the referenced project by virtue of the five
percent (5%) local bidder preference required by Section
10-8(c) of the Seward City Code.

contract to METCO to perform the work included in the
reduced scope of work for an amount not to exceed $28,700,

Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.
