CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 88-096
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, REQUIRING THAT ALL MAJOR FACILITIES,
PROPERTY CORNERS, UTILITIES AND ROADWAYS WITHIN THE
SEWARD MARINE INDUSTRIAL CENTER BE IDENTIFIED BY
CITY-DESIGNATED COORDINATES
WHEREAS, the city of Seward has developed the Seward
Marine Industrial Center and a number of public facilities
are being constructed on this site; and
WHEREAS, the city desires to lease out portions of the
area for private development; and
WHEREAS, the existing property descriptions are based
on several different surveys that do not necessarily coin-
cide and the various facilities already constructed have not
been tied together by land surveys; and
WHEREAS, a coordinate system that can cover and is
suitable for the entire SMIC area was assigned for the
Spring Creek Correctional Center construction;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:

nate values as prescribed by the city Engineering and
Utilities Manager.
Section 4. The City Engineering Office will maintain
on file for public use a document or documents setting forth
various control points within the SMIC which may be used for
vertical and horizontal control.
Section 5. This resolution shall take effect immedi-
ately upon its adoption.

of vertical of this data.

A set brass tablet set on the southwest corner of a concrete pad of an
underground electrical manhole, north of the main rails from the shiplift.

A set brass tablet set on the southeast corner of a concrete pad of an
underground electrical manhole, south of the main rails from the shiplift.

Top of bolt marked with a cross on the north side of a fire hydrant located
on east side of Nash Road 200 feet more or less south of the electrical sub.

DESCRIPTION AND LOCATION OF POINTS
Control Point No. I
A set 5/8"x30" Rebar with an Alum. cap, located at the northerly edge of the
pavement on the road into the prison, 8 feet more or less east of the
centerline of the road to the water tanks, approx. 1700' feet east of the
intersect ion of Nash Road & the prison access road.
Contro I Point NO.2
A set 5/8"x30" Rebar with an Alum. cap, located at the edge of pavement at
the northeast edge of the intersection of Nash Road and the prison access
road, 33 1/2 feet more or less west of the Stop Sign.
Control Point NO.3
A set 5/8"x30" Rebar with an Alum. cap, located at the easterly edge of
pavement on Nash Road, 42 feet more or less south of the centerline of the
access road to the electrical substation, 1780 feet more or less south of
the intersection of Nash Road & the prison access road.
Control Point NO.4
A set 5/8"x30" Rebar with an Alum. cap, located at the east edge of the
pavement of Nash Road where the road turns west, from which sewer
manhole bears southeasterly 12 feet and a 2 1/2" yellow iron pipe 4 1 /2
feet above the ground bears northeasterly 25 feet.

A set brass tablet set on the southwest corner of a concrete pad of an
underground electrical manhole, north of the main rails from the shiplift.
Control Point NO.6
A set brass tablet set on the southeast corner of a concrete pad of an
underground electrical manhole, south of the main rails from the shiplift.
Control Point NO.7
A set 5/8"x30" Rebar with an Alum. cap, located in the centerline of access
road running along the west edge of ditch west of the east line of USS 4827,
from which the southeast corner of USS 4827 bears S 34.21'58" E, 79.66'.
