HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes1988-099 . . . sponsored by: Schaefermever CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA RESOLUTION NO. 88-099 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA AUTHORIZING THE TRADE OF REAL PROPERTY WITHIN BLOCK 11, LAUBNER ADDITION, BETWEEN THE CITY OF SEWARD AND MR. REAL DAIGLE WHEREAS, the city has by Land Use Designation and zoning provided for multi-family residential development on Lots 3-13, Block 11, Laubner Addition; and WHEREAS, the city did on January 14, 1984, under Resolution 84-2 provide an access easement across city lands to the previous property owner in order that the land be accessible for development; and WHEREAS, Mr. Daigle proposes planned residential development and enter into a trade of property to development of this property; and to construct an 8-unit requests that the city accommodate the orderly WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to work with Mr. Daigle to provide for a safe, attractive development not only to provide additional housing in the community, but to add additional tax base and to compliment the adjacent Two Lakes Park and the cliff overlooking the lagoon area; and WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to negotiate a land trade of property within Block 11, and the replat of portions of Blocks 11 and 12, Laubner Addition, that will provide for public rights of way and vacation of unneeded alleyways; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the appropriate documents to trade the East 30 feet of Lots 29, 30, 37 and 38, Block 11, Laubner Addition, in exchange for all of Lot 13, Block 11, Laubner Addition to be added to the Two Lakes Park and portions of Lots 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7, Block 11, Laubner Addition, to be dedicated by plat as part of Second Avenue. copies of the deeds effecting the transfer of properties are attached and incorporated herein by reference. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized and directed to proceed with the replatting of Blocks 11 and 12, Laubner Addition, in order to vacate portions of unneeded alleyways, to replat private and public lands and to dedicate lands to the widening of the Second Avenue right of way and the creation of 1 . . . The City council finds it to be in the public interest to waive appraisal of the properties to be traded. section 4.
