CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA
RESOLUTION NO. 89-034
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING ELECTRICAL UPGRADE
IN THE SMALL BOAT HARBOR AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the 1989 Capital Improvements Plan approved by the
City Council includes a $56,000 allocation for a power line upgrade
to the Harbor Fuel Float; and
WHEREAS, the city has determined this project can be ac-
complished at a cost of approximately $20,000; and
WHEREAS, plans are underway for the underground placement of
the overhead power lines which run between the Seward Highway and
Seward Fisheries, adjacent to Airport Road; and
WHEREAS, Seward Fisheries has already contributed towards the
removal of a portion of this line due to the construction of its
new addition; and
WHEREAS, the overhead line in the Harbor area interferes with
boat relocation activities; and
WHEREAS, funds were approved in the FY 1989 Electric Utility
budget for the purchase of snow.machines; and
WHEREAS, the Utility has determined not to purchase the
snow.machines, thus realizing a $10,000 savings in this budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The sum of $50,000 is hereby appropriated form the
Harbor Fund Fund Balance to the Harbor Department Equipment Account
No. 401-411-541-10-93, and the budgets are amended accordingly.
Section 2. The Council hereby approves the following capital
expenditures:
Boat Harbor Fuel Float - Power Line Upgrade .....
Boat Harbor Underground -SF24-SF24-25 ...........
Electric Utility - SF24-2W to SF24-3W ...........
$20,000.
30,000.
10,000.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the city of Seward,
Alaska, this 24th day of April, 1989.
