RESOIDTION NO. 86-7
A RESOIDTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, URGING THE U.S. POST OFFICE ill IJX'ATE
THREE MAIL BOXES WITHIN THE CITY OF SEWARD
WHEREAS, the U. S. Post Office is no longer located on the
main thoroughfare coming into Seward; and
WHEREAS, the Post Office's new location is not as easily
accessible to tourists and visitors to Seward as was the old location;
and
WHEREAS, cruise ship and ferry passengers, other recreational
visitors and the citizens of Seward would benefit from access to U. S.
Post Office mail boxes placed at strategic locations within the City of
Seward; and
WHEREAS, servicing 3 additional mail drops would not adversely
affect the operation of the U. S. Post Office facility in Seward;
NCW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The U. S. Post Office is urged to place mail boxes
in the following three locations within the City of Seward:
1. Fourth Avenue, just outside the Alaska Shop;
2. Adjacent to the Harbonnaster's Building; and
3. The Seward Highway, just outside Frontier Foods.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect imrediately upon
its adoption.
