RESOLUTION NO. 84-102
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT
WITH R.W. BECK & ASSOCIATES FOR AN ELECTRIC RATE DESIGN
WHEREAS, a cost of service study was performed by Kennedy
Jenks in October, 1983, recommending rate increases (using the current
rate structure) to the public utilities in order to cover the cost of
providing such services; and
WHEREAS,
fairly distribute
customers; and
an electric rate design would better reflect and
the cost of providing power to Seward electric
WHEREAS, R.W. Beck and Associates has performed
consulting services and is highly recommended by other utility
and the Alaska Power Authority; and
similiar
companies
WHEREAS, R. W. Beck and Associates conducted the feasibility
study for the Municipal Electric system and that familiarity would cut
down on time and costs to prepare an electric rate design; and
WHEREAS, R.W. Beck and Associates has submitted a proposal to
provide consulting services to perform an electric rate design and is
immediately available to perform this service; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds for completion of this project are
available in Phase II Seward Electric Intertie Fund 285000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter
into a sole-source agreement with R.W. Beck and Associates to provide an
electric rate design in an amount not-to-exceed $22,000.00.
Section 2. THis resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its adoption.
