RESOLUTION NO. 85-9
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT NO. 3
FOR A FOUR MONTH LEASE EXTENSION TO THE SEWARD ARMY
RECREATION CAMP
WHEREAS, on the 25th day of May, 1964, the United States of
America and the State of Alaska entered into Lease No.
DA-95-507-eng-1957 covering the following described premises:
Lot 3 of Tract A, U.S. Survey No. 242,
Seward, Alaska, containing 12.428 acres,
more or less, otherwise known as the
Seward Army Recreation Camp; and
WHEREAS, on or about the 28th day of September 1983, the State
of Alaska, by operation of law, conveyed to the City of Seward all of
its rights, title and interest in and to the demised premises; and
WHEREAS, on June 25, 1984, the City Council of the City of
Seward, Alaska, did grant a 6-month extension to said lease for the
purposes of completing an appraisal of the property and a planning
report needed prior to approval by higher Department of Defense (DOD)
authority; and
WHEREAS, the Lessee has completed an appraisal of the property
and the planning report, which had been returned for changes, has been
corrected and forwarded for approval; and
WHEREAS, additional time is required, beyond the scheduled
extended termination date of said lease, to complete the planning report
in order to obtain lease approval by DOD;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into
Supplemental Agreement No.3, a copy of which is attached to and incor-
porated herein by reference as a part of this resolution, with the
United States of America regarding a four month lease extension on the
Army Recreation Camp.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect thirty (30) days
following passage and posting.

THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this date bt and between.
The City of Seward
whose address is Post Office~ox 167, Seward, Alaska 99664
hereinafter called theL'essor, and the UNlTED STATES OF AMERICA, hereinafter called the Government:
WHEREAS, the parties hereto desi re to amend the arove Lease.
NOW THEREFORE, these parties for the ronsiderations hereinafter mentioned rovenant and agree that the said
Lease is amended, effective December 31, 1984 , as follows:
Paragraph 3 is amended to delete the date "30 June 1984" and to substitute
therefor the date "30 April 1985."
All other tenns and conditions of the lease sholl remain in force and effect.
