RESOLUTION NO. 83-3l
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA,
AUTHORIZING A REQUEST TO ASSUME THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SEWARD
SMALL BOAT HARBOR EXPANSION PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Seward is in dire need of expanded harbor
facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Corps of Engineers has completed it environmental
assessment for new small boat capacity in Resurrection Bay; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward wishes to assume local control of the
Seward Small Boat Harbor Expansion project under provisions of AS 35.15.80.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Counci 1 of the City of
Seward, Alaska that:
Section 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to apply
to the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities
(hereinafter referred to as the "Department") on behalf of the City of
Seward for One Million, Nine Hundred Ninety Six Thousand, Four Hundred
elars ($1,996,400) which was appropriated to the Department in Chapter
SLA 78, Page 2, Sec 3 (14) for the Seward Small Boat Harbor Expansion
project.
Section 2. The City Manager is further authorized to act on behalf
of the City of Seward to enter into an Agreement with the Department
to transfer the responsibility for the accomplishment of the project
from the Department to the City of Seward.
Section 3. The City Manager is also authorized to execute any
subsequent amendments to said Agreement based on the needs of the project.
