RESOLUTION NO, 83-45
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR CONCRETE WORK FOR SIDEWALK RE-
PAIRS WITHOUT UTILIZATION OF THE BID PROCEDURES AS SET FORTH IN
SECTION 10-8 OF THE SEWARD CITY CODE
WHEREAS,
allocated funds to
amount of $22,660;
the City Council at its regular meeting of June 13, 1983,
effect repairs to the sidewalks and Fourth Avenue in the
and
WHEREAS, an evaluation of other areas which require repairs or con-
struction of sidewalks has been made; and
WHEREAS, further funding in the amount of $25,000 is required to
continue the sidew~lk construction and repairs; and
WHEREAS, complying with the bidding procedures of Section 10-8 of
the Seward City Code would be time consuming and more costly to the City; and
WHEREAS, Metco, Inc, is the only vendor in the Seward area dealing
in ready-mix concrete;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The General Fund Revenue Account No. 101-000-271-0000
is hereby decreased by $25,000,
Section 2, The Sidewalk Repair Account No. 209-209-541-1039 is
hereby increased by $25,000.
Section 3. In accordance with Section 10-8(g) of the Seward City
Code, the City Council finds that it is in the public interest to waive the
bidding procedures as outlined in the Seward City Code for the purchase of
concrete work required to continue the sidewalk construction and repairs,
Section 4, The City Administration is hereby authorized to exe-
cute a sole source contract with Metco, Inc. for concrete work to continue
sidewalk construction and repairs in an amount not-to-exceed $20,000,
adoption.
Section 5, This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD,
ALASKA, this 25 day of July , 1983.

A rectangular shaped parcel located adjacent to and
westerly of the Railroad's existing "yard" track
whose approximate side line dimensions are east
boundary line 1500 feet, south boundary line 185
feet, west boundary line 2113 feet, northeasterly
boundary line 581 feet. This parcel contains 7,36
acres more or less,
