PORT AND COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD
RESOLUTION NO. 2002-04
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, PORT AND
COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD, RECOMMENDING NO INCREASE IN
HARBOR MOORAGE RATES.
WHEREAS, the Seward Small Boat Harbor (SSBH) generates a great economic
benefit to the City of Seward; and
WHEREAS, the Personal Property Tax generated by the vessels in the SSBH is a large
source of revenue; and
WHEREAS, all property taxes are City of Seward General Fund Revenues; and
WHEREAS, the City of Seward General Fund receives revenue from the Fish Tax generated
by vessels using the SSBH; and
WHEREAS, keeping the moorage rates at the same level in the SSBH may attract more
Commercial Vessels and Commercial Fishing Vessels to SSBH therefore helping the economy of
Seward.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND RECOMMENDED BY THE PORT
AND COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, that:
Section 1. The moorage rates for the SSBH remain as published in the current City of Seward
Port and Harbor Tariff.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City of Seward, Alaska, Port and Commerce Advisory
Board this 3rd day of April 2002.
