RESOLUTION 2002-08
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING CREATION OF STAFF SUPPORT FOR THE
PORT AND COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD
WHEREAS, staff support for the board has in the past been provided as available from
either the manager's office, the harbormasters office, or the members themselves; and,
WHEREAS, the missions of the board can be better met by creating a secure position
whose only job is providing support to the board; and,
WHEREAS, such support should consist of communications, research, packet and
agenda development, reporting, keeping ofthe minutes, and other related tasks; and,
WHEREAS, adequately fulfilling these duties could not be reasonably accomplished
with less than a halftime position.
NOW BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED BY THE SEWARD PORT AND
COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD THAT:
SECTION 1: The board requests that the City recognize the contribution of the board by
creating a position to better enable the board to fulfill its responsibilities to the Council.
SECTION 2: That funding the position be considered during this 2003 budget cycle.
SECTION 3: That this Resolution take effect immediately.
