RESOLUTION 2003-04
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA. PORT AND COMMERCE
ADVISORY BOARD, RECOMMENDING THE SUPPORT OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF
THE AVTEC FIRE TRAINING FACILITY AT THE SEWARD MARINE INDUSTRIAL
CENTER.
WHEREAS, the City of Seward has sought to promote long term use and development
at SMIC; and
WHEREAS, A VTEC continues to seek development of its programs to enhance training
capabilities in its maritime program; and
WHEREAS, a new fire training facility at SMIC has potential to attract new customers
with incentives for local training; and
WHEREAS, this plan fits well within the scope of desired development at SMIC; and
WHEREAS, this plan, in concert with the City of Seward, will provide additional training
facilities for the City's fire department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND RECOMMENDED BY THE PORT AND
COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Seward, Alaska, support the development of
the AVTEC Fire Training Facility at the Seward Marine Industrial Center through
collaboration of land use, concept support and joint effort in pursuing its completion.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City of Seward, Alaska, Port and Commerce Advisory
Board this 3rd day of December, 2003.
