HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd2003-009Sponsored by: Plannine: and Zonine: Commission: Introduction Date: December 8, 2003 Public Hearing Date: January 12,2004 Enactment Date: January 12, 2004 CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA ORDINANCE 2003-09 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEWARD, ALASKA, AMENDING THE SEWARD CITY CODE 15.10.140, DEFINITIONS TO PROVIDE A DEFINITION FOR MOBILE MEDICAL UNITS. WHEREAS, mobile medical units in the Institutional Zoning District are beneficial to the people of Seward by providing increased medical services in Seward; and WHEREAS, modem medical equipment is available in a variety of mobile units, including but not limited to vans, trailers, and other mobile apparatus; and WHEREAS, a definition is needed for mobile medical units in order to clarify the types of units which are allowed; and WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to maintain a city code that reflects community needs; and WHEREAS, at its November 5th, 2003 meeting, the Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing and recommended City Council approval of the proposed Zoning Code amendment. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF SEWARD ORDAINS that: Section 1.Seward City Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Table 15.10.140 Definitions is hereby amended by adding the following: Mobile medical unit. A trailer, motorized coach or van capable of being transported from place to place, containing medical equipment such as a CT scanner, MRI or similarly complex medical diagnostic device or decontamination equipment. Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days following enactment.
